2. Scope of These Terms

These Terms apply to your use of the Prayr iOS app. Prayr helps Christians reduce distracting app usage by blocking selected apps, categories, or websites with Apple Screen Time until the user completes a short prayer or check-in.

This website hosts support, privacy, and terms information for the app. These Terms are app-focused and do not create a separate account, social network, marketplace, or web service.

3. Acceptance

By downloading, opening, or using Prayr, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

If you use Prayr on behalf of another person, or if you allow a minor to use Prayr, you are responsible for making sure that use follows these Terms and the settings on the device.

4. Age and Guardian Consent

You must be at least 13 years old to use Prayr. If you are 13 to 17 years old, you may use Prayr only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Parents and guardians should review Prayr's prayer, check-in, Screen Time, notification, and subscription features before allowing a minor to use the app. Minors should not enter highly sensitive personal information into free-text prayer or check-in fields.

5. Apple App Store Terms

Prayr is distributed through the Apple App Store. Your download and use of Prayr may also be subject to Apple Media Services terms, Apple's standard licensed application terms, App Store rules, and the settings for your Apple Account and device.

Apple handles App Store downloads, app updates, in-app purchases, subscription billing, payment methods, refunds, and Apple Account subscription management. Apple is not responsible for providing Prayr support. For Prayr support, contact support@theprayr.com.

6. App Purpose

Prayr is a Christian prayer habit and Screen Time app blocker. It is designed to help users pause before opening selected distracting apps and build a rhythm of prayer.

Prayr does not guarantee a particular spiritual, behavioral, emotional, or screen-time result. The app is not a replacement for pastoral care, professional counseling, medical care, emergency services, legal advice, financial advice, or any other professional service.

7. Screen Time and App Blocking

Prayr uses Apple Screen Time, FamilyControls, and ManagedSettings to let you select and block apps, app categories, or websites. Your selections are handled through Apple's system picker and represented to Prayr as Screen Time tokens.

Screen Time features require Apple permissions and compatible device settings. Blocking and unlocking behavior can depend on iOS, Apple frameworks, device state, permissions, and the app's current configuration. If blocked apps do not unlock as expected, follow the support steps on the Prayr Support page.

Emergency unlock is intended for urgent access when you need to open a blocked app quickly. It should not be treated as an emergency service or safety feature.

8. Prayer Content and AI Features

Prayr may show Bible verses, prayer prompts, reflections, and AI-generated prayer text. AI prayer text may be personalized using onboarding or check-in information that you provide.

Generated prayer text is offered for personal prayer support. Use your own judgment when reading or relying on it. Do not enter information into free-text fields that you would not want processed as described in the Prayr Privacy Policy.

Prayr may use the Google Gemini API to generate personalized Christian prayer text. Your use of Prayr must also respect applicable third-party service terms when those services are involved.

9. Subscriptions and Purchases

Prayr may offer paid subscriptions or paid features through Apple's in-app purchase system. The app or App Store purchase screen will show available products, prices, trial terms if any, billing periods, and renewal information before purchase.

Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account subscription settings. Apple handles billing, payment processing, taxes, refunds, cancellations, and subscription management. Prayr does not receive your payment card details.

If a restore purchase option is shown in Prayr, use it while signed in with the Apple ID that originally purchased the subscription.

10. Your Responsibilities

You agree to use Prayr lawfully and respectfully. You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineer the app except where allowed by law, use it to violate another person's rights, or submit unlawful content through app fields.

You are responsible for your device, Apple Account, Screen Time settings, notification settings, subscription choices, and any information you choose to enter into Prayr.

11. Privacy

Prayr's data practices are described in the Prayr Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data may be stored locally, what may be sent off device, which third-party services may be involved, and how to contact support for privacy requests.

Religious and spiritual information can be sensitive personal data. Review the Privacy Policy before entering free-text prayer or check-in information.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

Prayr may rely on Apple services, Google Gemini API, and Superwall for app functionality, AI prayer generation, subscriptions, paywalls, or related flows. Those services may have their own terms and privacy notices.

Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and reference. Prayr does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, policies, or availability.

13. Intellectual Property

Prayr, including its app name, logo, design, text, software, and other materials, is owned by the developer or licensed to the developer. Subject to these Terms and applicable App Store rules, you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use Prayr on Apple-branded devices that you own or control.

You may not copy, resell, redistribute, sublicense, or create derivative works from Prayr except where these Terms, Apple rules, or applicable law allow it.

14. Changes to Prayr

Prayr may be updated, changed, interrupted, or discontinued. Features may change over time, including prayer flows, app blocking behavior, subscription offerings, supported languages, AI features, and support content.

If a paid feature changes, your rights remain subject to the App Store purchase terms, subscription terms shown at purchase, and applicable consumer law.

15. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prayr is provided as is and as available, without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet every need. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer law.

Prayr is not responsible for failures caused by Apple services, iOS behavior, device settings, network availability, third-party services, or user-controlled permissions and configurations.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Prayr and its developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, loss of goodwill, device issues, or inability to access blocked apps.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot be limited by law.

17. Legal Compliance

You agree to comply with laws that apply to your use of Prayr. You represent that you are not located in a country or region subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not listed on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

You must also comply with applicable third-party terms when using Prayr, including terms from Apple and any services used by app features.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when Prayr changes or when legal, technical, or service provider requirements change. The effective date above shows when these Terms were last updated.

If you continue using Prayr after updated Terms are posted, you agree to the updated Terms.
